The Maritime Training Center Staff is among the most qualified assembly of maritime instructors in the state of Alabama. Members of the staff possess certifications from the American Welding Society as Certified Welding Inspectors, Certified Welding Instructors, and Certified Welding Educators. Staff members are certified to instruct overhead crane, rigging, forklift, manlift, and scaffolding. We also have staff that is certified by OSHA to instruct the 10-hour Maritime Course.
Our staff members have between 5-35 years of experience in welding and shipfitting. They are eager to meet the needs of not just the industry, but also your company and employees.

Jackie is ASNT certified Level III in MT, PT, & VT; ACCP certified Level III MT & PT, Level II VT & UT. He is currently pursuing Level III UT certification. He is also a member of the Ameican Welding Society, a CWS, SCWI, and CWE. He owns Morris Marine Consulting LLC, and is under contract with the State of Alabama to provide training services for DOD contractors in accordance with Navsea & Military standards for welding and NDT. He has also developed several manuals, including a company NDT manual approved by the US Navy and American Bureau of Shipping. He was the quality manager for a large shipyard for 33+ years, with experience in both government and commercial contracts. | Byron is currently a Senior Deputy Director of Quality in the aerospace industry. He is responsible for providing management, leadership, and direction to the Nondestructive Testing, Dimensional Measurement, and M&P Laboratory programs. He has previously worked for Naval Aviation Depot at NAS Pensacola as NDT Program Manager, and has developed various novel and unique inspection techniques with an emphasis on minimizing personnel exposure. He holds a BA in Nondestructive Testing Technology, and is a certified ASNT Level III in MT, UT, PT, ET, and RT. |
