What should I do if I'm not selected?

If you are not selected, do not give up. We recommend that you continue to check our website and apply again whenever the next class is available.

What kind of welding do you teach?

Trainees will learn the following:

  • FCAW-flux core welding, or flux core machine
  • SMAW-shielded metal arc welding, or stick welding
  • GMAW-gas metal arc welding, or aluminum welding
  • Shipfitting - all aspects

What happens after I submit my online application?

The computer automatically scores the application and then they are ranked from highest to lowest score.

I was accepted for day class and would rather take night class. Can I switch?

No. If you want to take a class that is not the one you were accepted for, you will have to reapply for the next one.

I was accepted for a class but I cant attend. Can I get on a waiting list for the next class?

No, we do not have a waiting list.  If you are interested in taking another class, you must reapply.

Can I sign up for forklift, OSHA, and other courses without going through my employer?

No, these courses are only available to employees of registered companies.  Please ask your employer to register with us and enroll you in one of these classes.

I got an invitation to orientation. Does that mean I'm in the class?

No, but the class will be selected from the people who attend orientation.

I attended orientation. When will I know if I am selected for the class?

You will receive notification four weeks prior to the state of class, if you are selected.

I applied for a welding class and was not invited to orientation. Why?

We receive hunderds of applications for each class. Applications with the highest scores undergo a review process.  Then, appoximately 100 applicants are invited to attend orientation.

How do you choose who is invited to orientation?

Applications with the highest scores will be reviewed, and approximately 100 applicants will be invited to attend orientation.

How do I know if you received my application?

After submitting your application, you will see a page that says, "Your application has been submitted and you have been logged in as a new registered user".  That means we have received your application.

How do I know if I'm being considered for a class?

You will receive an email inviting you to orientation.

How do I check the status of my training application?

To review your application, click here and follow the instructions on that page. 

Can I update my application after it has been submitted?

An application with a status of Application Complete, Outdated, or Incorrect Information may be updated. One with a status of Under Review, Review Complete, or Project Closed may not be updated.
