Course Purpose:
Marine Design course provides students with a broad introduction into marine design industry and understanding its’ purpose. Students will learn basic marine design concepts, including how AutoCAD skills are applied into the production of all facets from 2D design plans, all the way to 3D modeling of marine production components and final vessel assembly practices.
Course Description:
Students are introduced to ship terminology in order to understand the different types, parts and the distinct purposes of a wide range of marine vessels. This gives students an in depth understanding of how they will expect to use AutoCAD 2-dimensional (2D) and 3-dimensional (3D) Computer-Aided Design (CAD) modeling.
Applications Covered:
Students must have successfully completed AutoCAD Skill Assessment to be eligible for this class.
Successful completion of AutoCAD 2D and AutoCAD 3D.
The AIDT Maritime Training Center reserves the right to cancel any class if the minimum number of students required is not met.
